Hockey Canada released 25 players representing the host country at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton on Friday. The New York Rangers have not released any of them to the Canadian team, according to a statement from the team's head of hockey operations.
The 46-player squad for the tournament was selected by Hockey Canada head coach and general manager John Tortorella. Of the 25 players on the roster, six were part of the 2020 Canadian team that won gold in Ostrava, Czech Republic, as well as defensemen Bowen Bram (Brampton, Ont.) and Ryan Callahan (St. John's, N.Y.).
The team represents Pickering Soccer Club in a league in Ontario and sometimes participates in competitions across the province as well as in international competitions.
